Arica Underwood is a lifelong Cincinnati resident who believes that the justice system should be accessible, understandable, and available to everyone. Born and raised in Cincinnati, she attended Walnut Hills High School before earning her undergraduate degree from Tuskegee University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Following law school, Arica dedicated nearly fifteen years to public service as an attorney with the Hamilton County Public Defender's Office, where she represented individuals facing some of life's most difficult legal challenges. This experience provided her with extensive courtroom and trial experience while reinforcing her commitment to protecting the rights of those navigating the legal system.

Today, Arica focuses her private practice on criminal defense, probate matters, divorce, dissolution, child custody disputes, and appeals. She is known for providing straightforward advice, aggressive advocacy, and a client-centered approach that ensures every client understands their rights, options, and the legal process ahead.

Through her practice and her Justice Understood initiative, Arica strives to make the legal system less intimidating by helping individuals understand complex legal issues and make informed decisions about their future. She believes that justice begins with understanding and that every person deserves access to knowledgeable, compassionate, and effective legal representation.
